Look for image-heavy pages
Scans, photographs, brochures, and presentation-style PDFs are common sources of large attachments. A mostly textual report usually needs much less storage.
Compress once, then inspect
Use a balanced compression setting and open the result. Check the pages that matter most instead of assuming the file is fine because the size dropped.
If it is still too large
Consider splitting the PDF into logical sections or using a trusted file-sharing service. Repeatedly compressing the same file can gradually reduce image quality without solving the underlying size problem.
